A Case of Acute Brain Syndrome associated with Acute Pancreatitis

Abstract
This is a brief report on a case of acute pancreatitis observed in the St. Mary¢¥s Hospital.
The diagnosis of acute pancreatitis was confirmed by physical examinations and clinical laboratory findings.
The case showed various psychiatric signs and symptoms on the 4th hospital day and durated for 1 day, which impressed both interninists as well as psychiatrists who saw the case upon consultation that the patient might as well be suffered from acute hallucinatory psychosis.
Consequently the patient was transferred to the neuropsychiatric ward where further observation and psychiatric managements were done.
Authors stressed the importance of psychiatric evaluation in the cases of acute pancreatitis which internists tend to pay less attention.
